Circulation
Visit the main circulation desk (first floor) to check out materials, including reserves, interlibrary loans, and materials from the library's circulating collections. Circulating materials can also be checked out at a second desk on the ground floor.
Check Out
A College ID is needed to check out library materials. Alumnae may apply for a guest borrower's card at the Circulation desk. ARCHE borrowers must present a valid ILU card from the library of the college in which they are enrolled, as well as picture ID, to obtain short-term borrowing privileges.

Book Return
Book drops can be found on the first and ground floors at the circulation desks. After hours, books may be returned to the book drop outside the main entrance.
Holds
If the item you want is checked out, a HOLD can be placed on it at the Circulation desk. You will be notified when the item is returned. If the material has been checked out for more than three weeks, it can be recalled for you.
Only Agnes Scott students, faculty and staff may place holds on library materials.

Charges to your account may be paid at the Circulation desk on the first floor of McCain Library, or mailed to the library. We regret that we cannot accept money at the ground floor service desk. Guest Borrowers
Students and Faculty who attend any of the ARCHE (Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education) colleges may have borrowing privileges at any of the University Center libraries providing they have a specific information need, have used the home library to its potential and are in good standing at their home library. These are known as ILU Borrowers. See ILU (Interlibrary Use) page for more information.
Alums of ASC may have Agnes Scott borrowing privileges.
Spouses and Children of ASC faculty/staff may have Agnes Scott borrowing privileges.
Generally people who have no connection to Agnes Scott or the ARCHE group are not granted borrowing privileges, although occasionally exceptions are made.
Guest borrowers may not check out media equipment or dvds and can not submit ILL requests.
Confidentiality
The library protects the confidentiality of all borrower information, as required by law. Staff may not disclose the name of a patron who has a book checked out. In case of urgent need, however, we will attempt to contact the patron and facilitate sharing of the material.
If you have additional questions or need more information about the library, please call (404/471-6094) or come by the main floor Circulation desk.
