Astrophysics Data System (ADS Service): Abstract Service | Article Service
The most well known of the astronomy databases, this database contains citations, abstracts and the full text of the world's leading astronomy journals and publications. Provided to the public free of charge by NASA, the database is housed at Harvard. A monumental source of information!

  • Astronomical Resources (A listing of web resources compiled by the U.S. Naval Academy Observatory library).
  • NED (NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database) This database contains a master list of extragalactic objects including accurate positions and red shifts, basic data, bibliographic references and abstracts. Maintained by Cal Tech, this database is updated every 2-3 months.
  • NRAO (National Radio Astronomy Observatory)
  • SIMBAD This is a database of galactic objects outside of the solar system.
