How Do I borrow books from other libraries?

Agnes Scott students, faculty and staff may obtain temporary Interlibrary Use (ILU) cards to borrow material from other academic libraries in the area. For information about borrowing from the public library, see DeKalb County Public Library below.

To obtain an ILU card:

Make sure that we do not have the material in our library. McCain Library resources must be fully utilized before an ILU Card is issued. Ask a reference librarian to assist you - they will search the catalog and key full-text databases relating to the topic.
Determine where the material is available. Use the links to the online catalogs of other local libraries at Other Libraries. A librarian can assist with this as well.
Present your valid ASC student ID card to the librarian. You must be in good standing to receive an ILU Card (no high fines or outstanding billed books). Fill out a short application form - this allows us to track subject areas and courses for which students need supplemental material.

DeKalb County Public Library

Agnes Scott students are eligible for library privileges at all DeKalb County Public Libraries. The main library is located across the railroad tracks from the College on Sycamore Street. To obtain a library card, students must present a valid ASC student ID and proof of DeKalb county residence (e.g. mail).
