Reserves Collection
Reserves are books, articles, videos, and other items that are required or recommended for a course by its instructor. Instructors request that these items be put aside so that students can access them more easily. The collection is located behind the first floor Circulation desk. An ASC ID is required to check out reserves.

Loan periods for reserves
- depending on the item, reserves are checked out for 2 hours, 4 hours, 1 day, or 3 days
- some items are in-library use only & can, under no circumstances, be taken out of the library
Overnight reserve loans
- 2-hour reserves checked out after 8:30 p.m. Sun.-Thurs. are due at 9:00 a.m. the next day.
- 2-hour reserves checked out after 4:00 p.m. Fri. are due at 10:00 a.m. Sat.
- 2-hour reserves checked out after 4:00 p.m. Sat. are due at 2:00 p.m. Sun.
Note: During summer or holiday hours, reserves may be checked out for overnight two hours before the library closes, and are due back 30 minutes after opening the next day that the library is open.
Fines and lost item charges
Overdue fines: $.25 per hour (or partial hour)
Billed items: $40.00 replacement fee + $10.00 processing fee + $10.00 billing fee ($60.00)
Lost books (not yet billed): $40.00 replacement fee + $10.00 processing fee ($50.00)
You can check your record in SOPHIA at any time to review due dates, fines owed, holds placed, etc.
Fines may be paid at the first floor Circulation desk or mailed to the
library. Circulation privileges may be blocked for persons owing $10.00
or more in fines or for failure to respond to recall notices.
