Explore, Excite, Evolve @ McCain Library

Celebrate National Library Week, April 3 – 7!

ENTER OUR CONTEST!

Help us craft a more meaningful name for the “Reference Desk” where you can consult a librarian for research help.

Candy and balloons will mark the desk all week.

Friday, April 7, 1pm – Random drawing for 2 iTunes gift cards from among all contest participants’ names!

Other reasons to stop by McCain Library:
  • Rock and read outside on Cameron Terrace -- free sunglasses while they last, starting Monday!
  • Borrow a wireless laptop (at Circulation) and settle into a cozy chair in the Readers’ Gallery. There’s wifi coverage on most of McCain’s floors.
  • Reserve a carrel for exam time (contact Amy Minkov).
  • Check out a best seller from the Browsing bookshelves near the front doors.
  • Meet your study buddies in a sound-buffered Group Study Room.
  • Go beyond Google…consult a reference librarian for research help (and enter our “Name the Reference Desk” contest while you’re there)!
  • Save money on cable or Netflix – watch DVDs on the Ground Floor.
  • Browse virtual image galleries in the ARTstor database to de-stress.
  • Set-up a library instruction session for your class (for faculty – contact Patti Lee).
Library Display

Five library assistants who are seniors have been asked to choose a favorite library book to be plated in their honor. Their choices will be on display in the main lobby, along with a selection of First Year Common Reads chosen by other colleges.

Please contact Elizabeth Bagley, Director of Library Services, for additional information.
