36th Annual Writers' Festival

Yusef Komunyakaa ---- Selected Bibliography

(Downloaded from http://www.agnesscott.edu/about/p_eventdetail.asp?id=798 2/26/07)

Yusef Komunyakaa, a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, and one of America’s most celebrated and distinguished authors, will read from his works as part of Agnes Scott 2007 Spring Writers' Festival. Komunyakaa writes movingly and eloquently about pain and redemption, the ravages of the Vietnam War, the disharmony of the American South, the seductive power of Jazz and Blues, and the human desire for love and fulfillment.

The author of nearly a dozen books of verse, Komunyakaa received the 1994 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry for his collection Neon Vernacular: New and Selected Poems. A chancellor of the Academy of American Poets, Komunyakaa taught for almost a decade at Princeton University and is currently the Distinguished Senior Poet at NYU.

In conjunction with the public reading, we have compiled a bibliography of selected resources by and about the poet.
